Low maintenance evergreen perennial cactus/succulent that develops dense dark green leaves with a distinctive blue cast. Flowers in summer with spires of fragrant snow white bells. Suited to containers, firescaping, coastal exposure, poolside, or as a specimen in the Mediterranean, Desert, or Contemporary garden. Follow a regular watering schedule during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system. Watering can be reduced after establishment. Feed with a general purpose fertilizer before new growth begins in spring. Attracts butterflies. Drought resistant. Southern United States native. Yucca leaves contain very strong but soft fibers that have been extracted by native peoples to weave into create cloth and cordage.
