A rounded, densely branched deciduous shrub with glossy green foliage that turns shades of yellow in the Fall. Produces sweetly smelling, rose-pink blooms in late Summer that attract butterflies and bees. Prefers medium to wet soils and the soil should not be allowed to dry out. Prune if needed in late winter. Tolerates clay soil and full shade. Ideal in Mass or group in lawns, foundations, shrub borders, hedge, shade, woodland gardens, cottage garden, along stream banks or pond/water gardens. Plant near the patio to enjoy the fragrant smells in late Summer.
