A herbaceous perennial that stays compact and tidy with a long bloom season from Summer to Early Fall. A North American native. Requires well-drained, fertile soil and is highly adaptable; tolerates poor soil, heat, humidity, and even drought, once established. Remove spent blooms to prolong flowering season. Prune back old foliage and apply fertilizer in early spring before new growth emerges. Ideal in a cutting garden, border, container, mass planting, Rock garden, and Cottage gardens.
