A large native deciduous shrub with easy maintenance and spreading habit. Blazing coppery-orange flowers with a sweet fragrance appear on the shrub in Late Winter into Early Spring. This shrub will give you color in an otherwise stark Winter landscape. As well as amazing Fall colors of orange and red. The shrub is great as a hedge, border, privacy screen, erosion control, or Specimen. It can usually be found in a Cutting, Urban, Cottage, or Woodland garden. Deer tolerant and Road Salt tolerant. Apply a general purpose fertilizer before new growth begins in spring. Blooms heaviest on one- to three-year-old shoots.
