Showy deciduous tree with fragrant white pink saucer shaped flowers with an early Spring bloom. Mostly grown in a multi-trunked shrubby form. Best planted in a sheltered site to avoid late Spring frost. Best grown in moist, well drained soil. Prune shrubs in late winter or late summer to prevent bleeding of sap; prune minimally to maintain a healthy frame. Beautiful specimen, ideal in a Woodland or Formal garden.
