A woody perennial in the mint family with fragrant foliage and flowers, prefers dry to medium well drained soil. In order for this plant to thrive wet, poorly drained soils need to be avoided. Possesses lavender- blue flowers with a long bloom season from July to October. Cut back plants almost to the ground in late winter to early spring as soon as new growth appears. Tolerates rabbit, deer, drought, and clay soils. Beautiful en masse or as specimen in borders and beds.
