A vigorously spreading herbaceous groundcover that blooms March to May in various colors of pink, white, and violet that attract butterflies. Has a mat forming, creeping habit that gives great color to slopes and draping over rocks. Native to Eastern and Central United States. Deer, Erosion, and drought tolerant. Plants grow well in sandy or gravelly soil and need well drained soils to thrive. Cut back stems after flowering by half to maintain form and promote denser growth plus to stimulate a possible light re-bloom,. Ideally used in Rock gardens, edging, and foundations.
